Hi mate, cracking image. Well done!
15kms from Melbourne as well, the light pollution would certainly add to the challenge!
I remember the issues you had back in Aug when trying to bring out the faint details. The higher ISO appears to have helped this time around, and you've got fantastic detail and contrast in the pillars themselves.
Star colour across the image is great too.

Cheers, Evan

Thanks Evan. Yeah, the light pollution really adds to the challenge but I was determined to capture it. I'm starting to get a hang of my setup, I can't wait to get an opportunity to take it to a dark site

You've brought out the nebulosity really well. Great detail there. Maybe drop the iso to stop the star saturation ? How long were your subs ?

Is that at f8 or 10 or whatever a c5 is? If so, you are doing real grand !!!

Thank you Chris ))

The sub length was 25 sec. My mount currently is too stuttery to get any longer safely. I have plans in my head to modify it
I'm waiting for another clear night to grab maybe another 500 at iso1600 and blend them to help with the stars.

Yes that's on an f10 C5 thank you. I was told I would struggle to get it will my equipment so I said to myself " challenge accepted "

Thanks again for the feedback

Great work Ryan.
I think it is a blessing to have to make the long focal length work ... it will make your more appreciative of mount weights etc☺

Thank you Alex. I agree. The focal length I'm running now is going to prepare me for anything in the future. It's not easy but it's achievable with good old fashioned perseverance
