MIG29 Polish AF

MIG29 Polish AF

When the MIG starts to taxi ... looks like what appears to be ' fuel ' coming out the rear underside of the Plane at about 5.52 into the Video Clip

Could watch this sort of stuff all day.

Full screen is good .

All aircraft fuel tanks vent...if they don’t you’ll have sheet loads of issues.

I watched an RAAF BBJ the other day on the ramp at Fairbairn literally pi$$ing avtur everywhere. Being kerosene the flash risk is negligable (recall the old story over the debate about what to fuel turbine engines in the 40’s...between kero and gasoline, it came down to a dare of standing in a pool of each, striking matches and dropping them in....Kero won )

The best fuel for turbines is more carbon chains the better (more BTUs) it’s been calculated liquified bitumen would be the best.

Never saw the P3B Orion ' vent ' fuel on the ground at Edinburgh AFB while I was there ... sure it can ' dump ' fuel ' in emergencies in flight.

You are correct .. Avtur ( Aviation Kerosene ) has a high ' flash ' point.

Best one I seen for ' leaking ' fuel was the SR71 prior to flight.
