M48 adapter for SW 72ED

Hi Guys,

Where can I find a similar adaptor in AU?

https://www.firstlightoptics.com/ada...actor-m54.html

I need to connect the OVL field flattener to my EOS and SW 72ED

Thank you

To get one in one part you might be looking at a custom part to get one locally (And with my recent experience getting an adapter from the US I would suggest getting one made if you want it this side of maybe November)

Sidereal Trading has an M54 male to M48 female but then you would need an M48 male to male adapter to go with it and I have not seen one of those, back to custom.

You can't, I ordered mine from First light optics and got it within a week pre pandemic but they do ship via couriers not post so it should arrive in very good time.

Most if not all of sidereal's products are on backorder

I'm not sure if he still does this, but forum member Joshua Bunn has done some fine work for people:

I'm not a customer - I just read this positive thread

Actually I didn't even check the backorder status to be honest, given it needs a part that seems to be unusual (M48 male to male, I am sure you can get one, but I have not seen one in my travels) it is not really relevant. Just about everywhere is backordered for just about everything at the moment.

I presume Josh is still making up parts. I had him make an adapter for my Evostar 72mm in fact, am M54 to M"whateveritwas" to fit the ED80 reducer corrector they sold for it. At that time at least, Skywatcher did not have an adapter to do the job. It still would have been a lot easier if they had just used the same drawtube as the ED80!

Josh would be a goto if he is still doing one off jobs, the postage in Aus is likely to be slow, but from the US it is glacial at the moment.

What pitch thread do you need on the m54 side Daniel?
The link you mentioned in your original post has a M54 x 1mm, the sidereal trading link has a m54 x 0.75mm pitch thread, and the link at tester also has a m54 x 0.75mm pitch thread. I'm inclined to say you're requiring the 0.75mm pitch thread...
Regards Joshua
