Biden Commits to Conversion of Entire Auto Fleet to Electric

Biden has committed to Conversion of the entire US government auto fleet to Electric vehicles. That is 650,000 vehicles.

Story here:

Elon Musk will be pleased.

I believe Amazon is also converting its delivery fleet to Electric through a contract with Rivian.

Great stuff. And half a million recharge spots to boot

I've been following Rivian's info for a couple of years now... I had all but given up hope that they'd ever start proper production. How can a company build a few cars (assuming that it needed an assembly line to do so) but take years to move to any sort of real production scale? Reckon the first 10 or so were (relatively) handmade?

If you get a chance to watch Long Way Up with Ewan McGregor and Charlie Borman their support crews drive Rivians

Follow the money.
Now please legislate to ban tractor pulling and all forms of wasteful fossil fuel racing.
AND that houses only have a light on if there is a human in that room and all exterior lights to be controlled by motion sensors.
And dogs must wear pants.

Hey, I was runner up in the tractor pull event at the 1998 Trans Tasman Strongman Challenge in Christchurch, was one of those big buggers with the big double wheels at the back (~6-7ton) something like the attached ..was a hard pull actually, I think the diff was stiff..?, only about half the field managed to pull it the whole 25m

Mike, You do know that they have an engine and you just turn the key and put it in gear to make it go even further than 25m
