Is this a jet engine?

Was just looking around last night taking a few subs of lots of different items including trarantula. When I was sorting through them tonight I noticed the usual streaks from a plane going through my shot, but I can also see what look like the engines?

Is that what this is?

I've never seen that happen before usually I just get the lines.

Have you checked to see if there were any rockets launched on the other side of the world say 30min before you saw that? It's not unusual to be able to see second stage burns. I recall that several folks saw one some months back. I think it was a SpaceX second stage burn. Then of course there are Iridium flares ( reflections off the solar panels at certain times after sunset here). Sky Safari can tell you when the Iridium says are passing overhead. And the ISS is another traveller with reflective ability.

The running light on the plane flashes. I think the flash has lit the engines enough to get an exposure for that brief moment,

This was going to be my explanation.

Red and green wing tip lights with a central driving light is pretty standard for aircraft.
Saw on the news tonight that a crew just arrived at the ISS so a Soyuz was cruising around but I still recon its a plane.
Cheers
Andy

Yeah I reckon it’s a plane. Just amazed that the engines would show up like that on a 5 min sub.

It could be a reflection from fuselage.... which may explain the flash-like appearance.

Yes its a jet. I can't find one of my subs that shows the actual engine - but here's one where you can see the tail. I get quite a few and they look just like Hugh's.
