Finally moved into DSLR World

I must have talked about getting a DSLR a dozen times !
Well I finally took the plunge and now have my Canon 700D with a series of lenses including a 10to18mm for night scape photos (my main interest)
Now all I have to do is wait for all this weather to go.
There is a good conjunction coming up on Monday with Venus and Jupiter too, so that will certainly be worth checking out.

Play. The best thing I can tell you to do to learn that new toy is play. It's digital and costs nothing to delete

With a little reading up on a canon Astrophotography page
I went out to get what I hoped would be some decent shots.
It was quite cloudy (unusually out here) but I ended up with some reasonable shots. This is saved as a low res web Graphic, but it gets the idea across. I am pretty happy, for a first serious go beyond point and shoot ! The camera does its own dark frames as part of the shot. So all I have done is a bit of processing on Saturation, Contrast and Gamma settings.
