North Group ED102 Triplet + Accessories

* Sale of complete package to John *

Late last year I purchased a MN190 so my trusty North Group ED102 F7 Triplet is no longer getting any use.

I purchased this directly from North Group myself back in 2011 and it has been my main imaging and visual scope ever since. It is functionally the same telescope as other ED102s from the Synta stable such as Explore Scientific, Meade 5000 series etc. It has excellent colour correction and works really well with the Moonlite focuser upgrade. The original Crayford dual-speed focuser was the "upgraded imaging focuser" from NG but it wouldn't come to focus using a 2"diagonal (needed a 1 1/4"diagonal) so I opted to add a Moonlite and never looked back. I didn't use the original focuser much so I have no idea how it really works for imaging but it seems solid enough.

A couple of my photos through the scope (using an APSC DLSR) are attached.

It is in excellent condition with just a few minor marks on the tube etc - mostly on the slotted handle where I attached guidescope and piggy-back cameras etc.

ED102 Triplet OTA - $790
Comes with original Crayford focuser, hard case, tube rings with slotted carry handle & 2" ES diagonal (no dovetail bar).
Moonlite focuser - $250
Astro-Tech AT2FF (field flattener) - $95
Kendrick 4"dewstrap - $80
8 x 50 right-angle finder - $25
Orion 4" glass solar filter - $60

Complete Package with all the above thrown in ($1300 worth) - $1100.

All prices plus shipping. Can be picked up from Sydney's inner-west (or possibly from SPSP next week).

Hi
I am interested but would need to ship to Perth.
Are you able to confirm the weight and dimensions so that I can look into the cost please?

Thanks!
John

Hi John,

Approximate weight of the scope & hard case is 13.5kg.
Dimensions are 71cm x 38cm x 30cm.

Depending on which accessories you are after the weight might increase a little (the only one that has a really noticeable amount of weight is the old Crayford focuser).

Cheers,
Pete

Picture of 8 x 50 Finderscope added as per a request.

I weighed the hard case with all the accessories (including the original crayford focuser) and it comes to just under 16kg.

I will be heading to SPSP in a few days so won't be in a position to do much before I return next Sunday. I may have some limited internet whilst there so will respond to PMs or questions when I can.
