Some nice captures Bob. I miss Pelicans, there isn't a real lot where I am. In fact I have only seen the one, but got some good picks of it.

Chees Trevor,
Plenty abouts here, they feed them in the 100s on the broadwater each day !
Sick of seeing them nearly, but yeah, good to try a nice portraite now and then, Lol

My girlfreind way back had an son of about 20months and I took him to the little bay at Wollongong (next the the fishing fleet harbour) to play on the beach. I looked away for 1 minute, and when I turned back he's down among the Pelicans!! Freak out!! They just stood up and lifted their wings, and did a bit of beak clacking, which actions Luke started to mimic.
I thought; how amazing would it be for him to walk around among birds bigger than he was. Magic.

Birds are quite used to looking down on us - but not when they on the ground, Lol. Wonder if the chap ever thought where all them giant birds went when he grew up another 10 yrs, Lol
Lucky the peli's weren't hungry tho ? I read about a Pelican taking a baby's head in its beak once, no injuries thank goodness, apart from a scratch or two, but a few moms were screaming frantically !!!!
