Dolphin Head Nebula and First Light SVbony 102ED

This is my first light with my SVbony ED-102. I like the FOV it gives and works well paired with my L-Extreme. I wouldn't use this scope with non NB filters - but in most cases - especially this nebula - I need NB to bring out the detail. This nebula is amazing in shape. Taken over multiple nights in Bortle 4 and mainly Bortle 2 210 x 4min ea.

Very nicely done Paul, especially on this challenging target.

Best,

Thanks Mike. Still can't get over how much this looks like a dolphin head!

Thanks! Learning how to tame the aboration on the stars with this scope. Definitely only a NB scope. At 714 FL and a non reduced flattener it works!

Thanks Anthony! I was hoping to add some Ha to bring out the red but clouds might delay that until next season

Nicely done. I find this target intriguing. You did well to capture it with the bad weather that seems common these days.

Greg.

Thanks guys. Yeah this nebula doesn't even show up when I shoot osc no filter! Needs loads of ha o3. The cloud seems to be a global phenomenon these days. Everyone complaining about small windows to take shots.

That's a nice rendering of this object. It's long been on my list to get imaged. I'll have plenty of fine examples like this to compare when I do.
