Password for plug in hard drive

I have a pug in Seagate Expansion Drive with 1.81TB capacity. Is there a simple way of installing a password for this drive?

Hi Phil,

Whilst it's been a while since I've used such a thing, I'd suggest this as a good place to start:

Veracrypt

I was using it's predecessor, Truecrypt, with little trouble. Others will hopefully chime in with some more recent experience.

Cheers,
Andy.

I use Veracrypt for two different external HDDs using an encrypted container. It works awesome, on macOS, Linux and Windows.

Thanks - I have just downloaded Veracrypt and I like the look of it, especially the very explicit guide, also that you can try the full system before you buy (donate).
Cheers Peter
