LRGB from Bortle 8 sky ?

Hi folks,

I’m contemplating a move up from a DSLR and wonder wether to go monochrome or OSC. MC with NB filters seems a no brainer with my Bortle 8 sky. But how is it with LRGB? Do I need to add an LP filer in front of every colour and use one as a L filter? Or do you shoot L through something like a CLS-CCD and keep colour to very short exposures?

I’m currently pretty happy with a STC dual NB clip in filter and think a cooled OSC with such filter would be a nice upgrade. But I keep reading about the losses due to the Bayer matrix and hence lean towards MC (also for narrower filters).

Would be great to read from others how you deal with LP when shooting LRGB.

Cheers,
