YOUR a very naughty Rocket Boy for showing me this information Andrew. BTW I held and had a good play with this lens (http://canon.com.au/products/cameras...mf4lisusm.html )and a canon 1d yesterday. I have a problem............................ ................................... ................................... ................................... .....it was big, beautiful and very very expensive. The guy had just bought it for his holiday to Africa next year.

That is the first step hOughy, to admit you have one. Then follow the twelve steps through rehab. Then go and buy it anyway!

The 600mm F4L IS USM is nice, but for the money you can get an up market APO refractor and have buckets of cash (or lack of debt) to get even more.

The sweet spot for Canon Super Telephotos is the 300mm F2.8L as there is not a refractor that can come near it for speed. The new Borg Astrographs when they come out may match it.

yeah they are half the price, but I must hold firm to my morals Bert, (ok its the wallet and the wife) But i would get no cashback for the lens?
