Retro heaven

Six inch f/8 on a eq mount. All i need now is a couple of volcano tops. Already have a long focus vintage Meade barlow.

When I used the ol' 6" f8 back in the 60's (still got the Wildey mirror) all we could afford was a 1/2" Ramsden......

My first astro scope was a Kmart 4.5 inch f/900mm reflector with 20mm and 6mm Huygens eyepieces. It took a while, but i eventually discovered that the secondary mirror was bent, due to pressure in its holder. X shaped stars. Bought a new secondary from Astro Optical Supplies and fixed it. My first good eyepiece was a 9mm Carton volcano top ortho.

I had one of those all aluminium 4" Russian scopes, very nice, should never have sold it.
