BT or USB

Now that I've bought an EQ8 I need to buy something so that I can connect it to my laptop so that I can use EQMOD. Looking at placing an order with Shoestring Astronomy and noticed that they have a bluetooth option as well as a more traditional RJ45-USB. Does anyone have any experience with the BT option? What's the battery life like?

I'm liking the sound of less cables but I want to ensure this is going to work well.

It gets power from the mount and doesn't consume much at all.

A concern of mine would be latency if your pulse guiding and stuff like that. Were only talking about 200ms~ so its not really much.

I personally would have gone with the cable because its very reliable whereas wireless has inherent weaknesses.

Interesting point about the latency, I hadn't thought of that. I do use pulse guiding usually. Oh well, the deed is done now. I'll see how it goes and if it ends badly it wasn't an expensive mistake.

Thanks mate :-)

Btw I use a BT adapter on my AZEQ6 via the handset (PC Direct mode).

Ive tried it with EQmod before and it was pretty snappy with the commands.
