M83 - redux

Another repro, this time M83. Being entirely subjective, I'm sure I'll hear "I like your old stuff better than your new stuff" to quote Regurgitator, but I think it's much better than the previous processing attempts.

Big one here

I reckon I would be pretty happy with that, I must mount up the SCT and have a red hot go at it this time around.

Vibrant colour Lee. How about a link to the old one for comparison?

Thanks Paul Definitely worth having a crack at it with your SCT. Look forward to seeing the results.

Just looked at it with my $15 Spotlight anti-colourblindness glasses. Wow, those red star-forming regions really pop.

Very nicely done.

hey Lee,

i also like the original better - particularly near the core, although it looks like you've gone for a bit less contrast and pulling out a bit extra on the galaxy edges on this process. both crackers

cheers

That's a stunning M83 Lee, the increase in detail around the fringe trumps the old version IMO.
Cheers,
Tony

It’s a difficult pick between the original and the new one Lee, the first has great resolution while the second is more subtle and has wonderful colour. Both are worthy of the cool wall

Thanks Colin! I find the original one very flat looking but I did do a better job of decon on it.

Thanks very much Chris The newt drives me nuts! Struggling with star shapes again now. I need to win the lottery and buy a CDK/iDK.
