Urgent request for spectra of strange newly variable star asas-sn-20da

https://asas-sn.osu.edu/light_curves...19c17d4ee0.png

Asas-sn supernova survey has picked up an object with rapid and odd variability and is urgently seeking spectroscopic observations.

If you have a spectrograph, even a humble star analyser, take a spectrum. Don't forget to also take a reference spectrum, preferably a B or A type star with a high quality reference spectrum. I will repost later today with a few good suggested references, maybe ken can also suggest.

managed to take some spectra with SA100 last night. It's a little bit of a crowded field and mag 12 is close to limit for me as I didn't have time to set up guiding because I started late and did lots of short subframes.

while I was doing it I think I identified the star on the field and it might have looked quite red (I was using an IR/UV modded lumix colour DSLR).

It will be interesting to see if I really got something!

Thanks to ken for the good suggestions for reference stars, alf-cir was bright enough to use for live view focusing also!
