Matching Camera to Telescope

Hi all,

I'm starting out in astrophotography (interested in nebula), my equipment for this is a follows:

Skywatcher BD ED80
Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro
Orion Focal Reducer Corrector 0.85
ZWO ASI 120MC USB2
Orion Mini 50mm Guide Scope
Rasberry Pi 3 running iAstroHub
10" Andriod Tablet

I'm looking to add an imaging camera to this and after some reading have come up with a ZWO ASI 178MC-Cool. I'm thinking this should be a good fit for my ED80. Does anyone have experience or ideas about setups with similar equipment?

Richard

Hi Richard,

I found the links below a good read for matching cam/scope, in case you haven't come across them yet...

Thanks Max,

I've decided on a ZWO ASI 183MC-Cool, it seems a good fit for an ED80 and its about as far as I want to go budget wise. It's a shame the 1600MC isn't avaiable anymore.

Good choice Richard. The ED80 is a versatile scope which can match many cameras. This is certainly one of them.
