Angry It was supposed to be clear tonight!

After a partly cloudy morning, a beautiful clear and sunny sky all afternoon, it was looking good for the overhead ISS pass tonight, a massive -2.5 mag pass almost directly overhead (81deg).

I was also keen for some lunar and Mars imaging, it's been a long time since we've had clear skies!

But what's this? The clouds are starting to come over now..
satellite

They'd better go away by 9:15pm!

You gonna try some prime imaging on it Mike or a widefield?

I've got friends over so we're gonna just do a visual.

Unfortunately...the 7-day forecast here is for cloud and showers...

It will no doubt clear the day I go back to work.

Well, Christmas Eve I got about 3/4 of an hour of clear sky...just enough time to see Mars and take a snap of the moon to impress the rellies on Christmas Day and that was it...all it's been for weeks now...

Man that was bright! And there was a satellite on the same trajectory on a few seconds ahead of it.. not the shuttle, I wonder what it was.

Oh wow that was bright, it flared at one stage which really freaked the guys out, it was the first time they'd seen it.
Also saw the other two satellites in the same trajectory.
Great show !

Can't wait to see what you got Mike.

I am so sick of the sky here recently. We haven't had a decent night for at least a few months. It's just constant cloud. What have we Queenslanders done to deserve this????
It's more frustrating because I have just bought a new scope, don't know when first light will come.

I had a nice clear night last night, the first in months. Captured a few images and had a beautiful view of the ISS whizzing over as well.

Our fluffy friends arrived around 1:00 am to spoil the show as usual and I was packed up and in bed by 1:45 am. Still it was great to get out.

Cheers
