For sometime now EQMOD with SG Pro has not been successfully performing a meridian flip and even whilst at the QLD Astrofest this year, with plenty of help on offer it just wouldn't work. As soon as I checked the box for Auto Meridian Flip on the Telescope tab of the control panel in SG Pro the status bar would change from the time to meridian flip to NA. EQMOD knew which side of the pier the mount was on etc.
I have found the problem and a comprehensive sent of steps to configure it too. I was still using an early iteration of EQMOD version 1.28 whereas the absolute minimum version that supports use with SG pro for the meridian flip is version 1.28m - I now have 1.28s - the latest and everything has started working correctly.
