Neximage/philips spc900nc Autoguiding PHD

Hi.

I have read that it is possible to autoguide using a Neximage, which is essentially a philips spc900nc, however I can on see stars ~mag2 and up in PHD2, and I have tried everything, its just super noisy? People are saying that these cams work well as guiders? What am I doing wrong. I have it hooked up to a 50mm Orion guidscope?

Thanks
Dan

I've managed to get it working in the past with my Neximage but it was on XP. The drivers don't seem to do well on W7. You would possibly do better with a bigger guide scope, 80mm maybe as they don't seem to be as sensitive as the ZWO AS120 I'm now using. Mine wasn't too noisy but had a bad line down the sensor. PHD2 should be able to run it but you might need to extend the integration time and do some dark frames to negate the noise.
