What to image? Taking your suggestions ...

Hi folks,

I'm new to this caper but keen to try things out at least once. So ... I would love some suggestions on interesting wide-field views to image as a beginner which aren't M42. I'm after some variety so I can get a feel for the different objects out there.

Here's my set-up:
Stellarvue 105 f/6.3 APO Triplet
Canon 450D
EQ6 Pro mount
No filters (yet)

Thanks,
Af

Phew....there's a lot of targets....Eta Carina, Omega Centauri, Tarantula Neb', any of the galaxies in Virgo, Leo etc etc, Rosette Neb', Cone Neb', Barnard's Loop, IC434 and the Horsehead/Flame neb's, any one of a number of open clusters like M45, M44 etc etc, the list is almost endless

Thanks Carl.

I'm keen to try a variety of things so that quick list already gives me something to start on. Will post some pics once I get them going.

Sure can, it's perfect!
And the galaxies are bright enough to see in the finderscope, and there's plenty of bright stars to guide off too.
Go for it!!!
