Wonderful shot Greg. Where did you shoot this from? You've got the Pleaides dust coming up nicely, not to mention so much of the tail.
We've had so few clear nights in Brissy I was loathe to set up a CCD widefield rig when my northern sky is so bright. Decided to leave the QHY9 on the Tak for last couple of nights.
Great image Greg, lots of detail in the comet's tail and nebulousity around Pleiades.
Well done.
Bo
Thanks Bo. I am happy with how it turned out.

Thanks Leon. The Pleaides make for a nice framing.

I hope you get a good image of it.

The tail is massive. If you look with averted vision you can kind of see it visually (the tail that is).
Yep that is nice Greg. Excellent colour and a good near and far theme. Personally I might have angled the comet a bit more diagonally though. However that is a minor thing and I would myself be happy with that shot.

Yes diagonal would probably be a nicer orientation. I suppose I have room to try a crop.
But then again I went through hell to get this image. My filter wheel is not working for some reason and I had to remove the lens, physically move the filter wheel to the next filter with a thin allen key, then refit the lens, refocus then take the next filtered image. All the time aware that the comet was moving!
I have done a rotated version and I agree this is a more pleasing framing.
Thanks for the tip Paul. Thinking about it, comets often are angled in the sky so its a natural framing. Also diagonals in general make a nice orientation for framing, especially left up to right.
