Gstar news and a new lense

Just thought I'd let you know that I finally got my Gstar Ex working through my laptop.
The video capture device wouldn't work through the USB ports, and I've tried for many months upgrading drivers etc with no success.
Tonight I had a brain wave and hooked the device up to the USB port on the Firewire card, and voila, it worked!!!!!!!
At long last.
No more recording to the dvd recorder.
No more editing .vobs.
No more having to extract the frames by hand!!!!
I can't wait for the sky to clear so I can start imaging properly.

I also bought a new 4mm lens on the weekend.
It'll be used mainly for meteor showers.
As you can see from the photo (a single noisy frame) there is a bit of vignetting, but I can live with that. For $18 I reckon it's a bargain.

I'm so happy!

Yep JJJ, you have done well for 18 bucks, and a fine lens it will be for those elusive meteors.
