Stellacam3 UFO software

Hi, On May 25th 2008 on my first night of recording with a stellacam3 and a JVC 7-70mm TV zoom lens F1.4 I caught a UFO (~ 30 of footage).

However, the settings on the stellacam3 meant that each exposure was about 8 seconds and so the movement of the object is blurred into a bright line. My question is,
Is there any software on the market to restore the appearance of what would have been a round bright circular object moving slowly?

I also caught a plane and it has the appearance of a ladder (two parallel lines.

Any help is always appreciated.

Hi and welcome to IIS.
You cannot restore your images with any software. Your camera is integrating captured images in its memory before sending image to the recording device. 8 sec integration time is by far too long to capture moving object with non-tracking camera. If you want to capture images of moving objects with frame integrating camera like yours, you must reduce integration time. To capture video at 25 FPS you have to set your camera integration on 2X, for 12.5 FPS video rate set it to 4X integration and so on.
I don’t want to discourage you in your quest for capturing UFO but I have been using similar camera setup to capture meteors for few years and got thousands of images of meteors, satellites, planes, birds, insects, cosmic rays hits, fireworks and electrical discharges. None of those images come to category of Unidentified Flying Object.

Hi Karl,

Thanks for the skinny on the presence/abscence of specialsed software.

I am familiar with most of the objects you have outlined.

However, if you look at the footage I uploaded to youtube

http://youtube.com/watch?v=G4QrQezZqME

you might like to offer a suggestion.

Also, this is the best sky/star background I can get with this lens.
I will have to get a much bigger lens/mirror if I wish to increase the frame rate and still see the stars with a 15mm lens-wide bacground..

I cannot comment on image that you posted, it is not clear enough. However your image should have lot more stars on it. Here is example of snapshot of meteor capture taken with GStar camera and cheap 8mm F1.2 security lens at 12.5 FPS.

Hi Karl, your object seems to be fast moving.... my object took 30 seconds to appear and then disappear.
