Managed to get this image at home before I went on holiday.
My RASA 8 and ZWO 294 uncooled. Horsehead neb 45sec x 4 stack on Sharpcap and stretched on astrotoaster

Thanks Ryan
Chris ,it was live stacked in Sharpcap. I set the auto save to either 1 min or 3 mins but dont go over that. I fiddle with the histogram in Sharpcap but that is all I do. I would do everything in Sharpcap if I could but find that I need Astrotoaster to give me the result I want. However, I have very little experience in altering the images once they are saved.
Attached is the 15sec x4 live stack in Sharpcap and altered in Astrotoaster

Paul. Agreed. I always found astrotoaster did a nicer job on live stacked images that sharpcap. But sharpcap has been beefed up since I last used it. I must try it again - a RASA would be a great place to start !!!!
Great shot for such a short time.
I've been reading about the Rasa8 and you have a really fast imaging scope.
Like Tony said "looking forward to your future images".
Cheers

Welcome to the game Paul.
First thing you should do is figure out why one side of the field is much sharper than the other. The camera/sensor may have a tilt or the optics are out of collimation.
Thanks Stefan
I am pretty sure it is a problem with the mirror.
When the RASA 8 arrived , the mirror was loose and the first image showed severe mirror flop.
I tightened some Allen screws which were loose and the next image was the horsehead which was much improved but still has some tilt as you point out.
The RASA 11 has 2 mirror locking screws which have been removed from the RASA 8. The RASA 8 Manual claims the mirror is permanently factory aligned
I have contacted Celestron for more specific instructions.
Otherwise I have been very happy with the scope.

If the primary was set at the factory but arrived lose then you have a big problem. Might want to talk to Don at Bintel. He'll be able to advise.
Yes,it appears the R8 will have a little holiday in Sydney with Don. I am presently on holiday down the beach and the scope is at home so nothing can be done for a couple of weeks .
