Connecting HEQ5 to mains power

Hi, so santa delivered the BD80ED and the HEQ5 yesterday very keen to get started!
I'm looking for help though with getting it powered - for now I will just stay in the backyard while I learn the basics, and I'm within easy reach of a power point.
The mount came with the 12V cigarette lighter adapter - what do I need to do to get this running on mains power? Do I need to be worried about ampage, or can I just head down to Jaycar and grab any 240V --> 12V converter?
Thanks!

Power supply for HEQ5

Hi Adam,

My HEQ5 is due in late january

I have purchased a Powertech MP3575 12v DC 7.5 amp power supply to power the mount from Jaycar. Comes with a female cigarette socket with short lead for the 12v side and standard 3 pin male plug and lead for the 230 v mains side

This should be more than adequate for your mount

Hope this helps

Martin

Just get a 240->12V power supply from Jaycar. Positive tip, 2A (or more).

I cannot remember if it needs a 2.1mm or 2.5mm barrel connector. This post suggests 2.1mm.
