Baader Clicklock eyepiece holder

Hi all,
I recently bought a 1.25" Baader Clicklock eyepiece holder. It is the current version without the handle that looks like a lock screw, this one:

It seems to work fine insofar as it holds eyepieces firmly with little twist force. That's the "lock" bit. What I'm not sure about about is the "click" bit. What is supposed to click there? Mine goes to a hard stop if twisted open, and releases the eyepiece. If twisted shut it just grabs the eyepiece. All this works without any tactile or audible clicking. Am I missing out on something? Is my Clicklock defective and should be returned?

I'm using a 2" click lock and mine also has no "click" sound. I think that is normal and begs the question as to the name of this product. BTW, I think it is excellent!

There is no "click", my understanding is that this is a marketing wording and not reflecting the actual action (I am German and read the instructions, no word of a Klick).
The Baader clicklock is a twist lock, you twist and it locks.
Compared to the nice Antares twist lock the Badder needs a bit less twist angle, has a slightly more positive locking feel and a slighly better surface finish, I have both for 1.25".
If price would be closer I would always go for the Baader but the Antares is very competitively priced.

Both mine doesnt click either.. but it does sort of make notchy click sounds when you tighten the ring

Bintel now sell their own brand of these.
I bought some for $39 each from their Melbourne store recently.
They don't call them click locks, they call them:
Bintel Precision Centering 2 - 1.25 Inch Adapter.

These seem to work well for a good price.

Hi Allan,
the Bintel adapters are a different kind of device. The Baader Clicklock I've got is not a 2"-1.25" adapter or extension tube, it is an eyepiece holder with T2 thread on the other end (to fit any of their vast array of T2 accessories, like the T2 diagonals). It also has a fine-focussing collar.

To everybody else, thanks for alleviating my fears, I should learn not to fret so much...

the click I think I read on CN refers to all of their adapters being modular & able to click together (like lego)

I have a bunch of the click lock products...it's more like a notch sliding sound like Ed says, when it's being rotated. Smooth and secure though.

I use them as well, and it's a more ratchet like sound than a click. I guess just marketing hyperbole

Interesting, I don't get any ratchet type sound or feel. Maybe I should return it after all...?

Nothing wrong with it Steffen; I've got the same one and the 2" variety and they either work or they don't - any sound or lack of is unimportant.
