Imaging an ISS Solar Transit

Ok, I've had my 3rd Calsky Alert, and this time I'm going to be having clear skies!!!
I'll be using my ED80 and 550D, shooting through Baadar White Light film.
The transit will last only .85 secs, I'd be better off shooting it in HD video than in burst mode, wouldn't I??
Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.

G'Day JJJ,

Go video and make sure you start it in time. 0.85s suggests the transit should be not too close to the limb so you should see it, but it might be difficult to identify it, so let it run a little while afterwards just to be sure. It wouldn't be good to shoot the ISS and only get a passing swallow...

Try for as short an exposure time as you can to stop the motion of the ISS. I think from memory (with an ED80 and DMK41 - 4.95um pixel) I needed to be faster than 1/200s! ...not easy through a 40mm Ha filter...

Good luck.

Looking forward to the results!

Al.
