How are cloud maps on CloudFreeNight generated?

Hi

AFAIK BOM doesn't produce cloud maps, but how does CFN generate the forecast maps? https://www.cloudfreenight.com/map.view

Thanks

The ACCESS model forecast data are downloaded from a BoM server and the map images are created from this raw data. For more detail check the F.A.Q. entry "How does the Cloud Free Night service operate?".

Not answering your question directly but, I have app called Earth 3D. I think it’s free. It’s a weather app, and produces a range of maps that includes cloud cover and at various levels. It also provides a reply and prediction of available maps.
I don’t know where it gets it’s info from, but seems to work for me in Laos.
