Camera for the tropics

Hi All,
I am fairly new to imaging, having started in June
I would like some advice on a camera or sensor, kodak or sony, that would be suitable for imaging in the tropics where temp is a major concern. At the moment i am using an unmodified 500d but noise is a problem.

I have a saxon ed 120 and a wo flt 110, and from what i have read a pixel size of 5-6 seems to be about right. A budget of 2-3k

Any ideas would be welcome. :confused2
