NGC6744 is a face-on spiral galaxy in Pavo. Also visible in the image are several faint galaxies - NGC6744A, IC4823 and IC4820 plus at least two others.
The image was made from sixty 300-second subframes taken with an ASI071MCPro camera and a Skywatcher Esprit 100mm refractor on an EQ8 mount. Average guiding RMS of 0.11 arcseconds (best I have ever achieved).

Great image of this galaxy
Plenty of detail in the Spiral arms
It was discovered by James Dunlop in 1826 at his observatory at Parramatta in western Sydney. My eldest son lives about 100m from where his observatory was located
That’s a big solid mount you have there for a relatively light payload , your guiding figures are unbelievable
I’m after this galaxy too ( when I can down to my dark site again)
Good work !
Tim,
Awesome pickup, heaps of detail in the spiral arms and nice wide field to boot.I personally would tone back the blue a bit but that’s being picky. Nice stars too.
