Reducing/flattening an Astro-Physics refractor

I already have the TOA-35R reducer/flattener for my Tak FS-102 (works perfectly), and was wondering, to same some money to use the same reducer/flattener in my Astro-Physics 12Ed refractor - see any issues?

Focal ratio of the Tak is f/8, the AP is 8.5. Focal lengths are close.

All I would need to do is have my mate turn up an AP to Tak adapter, then space it with the adapter I already have for the FS.

Or is this all bad physics and mathematics? Or just try the damned thing

I know the AP telecompressor is cheap enough (cheaper than the Tak), as are their parts, but I am still trying to be frugal

You won't know until you try, unless someone else has tried that configuration.

The TOA/FS reducer doesn't seem to be so good on my TSA120 (still testing) but it's f/7.5; you might be lucky with f/8.5.

I would make adapters for the Tak reducer. Another option: APM's Riccardi 0.75. Probably made in Taiwan, but works with several focal lengths/apertures.
