Accessories for Skywatcher 130 Heritage Dob

Hi everyone.
My darling wife suprised me for my birthday and bought me the telescope listed above. We've pretty much never touched one in our lives until now.

It came with a 10mm and 25mm eyepiece. After doing some reading around I think a few filters and a Barlow lens might help me view the skies. And it so happened I was given $100 to spend on myself for my birthday from my mother in law (what a champ). Is this kit okay?

Thanks for any input

Hi David. I'd skip the kit and get a 2x barlow (1.25 inch Bintel about $50) This will give you a good range with the 25mm and 10mm. The other stuff probably won't be used much. As you gain a bit of experience you will work out what else you need. The second hand stuff on this site is usually very good value as well. If you can get to a club or star party to see what others have got. Cheers Richard

Yes I have an Android. I was using star walk 2 this morning to peek at Saturn and Venus. Couldn't find Neptune or Pluto!

Neptune and pluto are so far away way they only look like stars in even quite large telescopes, so although you might see the star field with Neptune in it, it will be hard to pick out and forget about pluto it's way too small.
