Just going back through the "archives" (external HDD)
Taken back in Feb of 2013. 30 second exposure on my tripod. I was fascinated by the little purple smudge in the middle, which turned out to be Carina...
I remember looking at some of the setups/rigs that people have, and thinking to myself, "I will never have anything like that with 3 telescopes joined together with cables going everywhere. I am quite content with my old homemade scotch mount"
If only I knew...
And Josh, you are right. I think that one was 90 seconds.
Yes, that's great to see....ones very first true astrophoto is always very special, mine is attached and not too dissimilar to yours ..except yours is better although mine was taken in 1982 at 14 yrs of age and under BHP Steelworks/Worlds largest coal port Newcastle skies and a Pentax MEF 50mm Lens using Kodak Ektachrome something ...ah nostalgia....

It looks to me this is more than 30 sec as well considering the star trails...??
..except yours is better
