The links gone now...but was at:

http://online.evansclarke.com.au/auction_find.asp

The tipoff came on usenet group aus.photos

A lot of good for sale stuff appears on aus.photo...much better than ebay. I saw a pristine condition 200 1.8 on there about a year ago for half the normal ebay going rate! Keep your eyes posted...

Mike,

Aus.photo is a Usenet group. You can access it online for example via google:

http://groups.google.com.au/group/au...nk=gschg&hl=en

Mike PM regarding the 50 f1.8. I might be able to help out.

$2010 and $2180 + 12.5% buyers premium. They didn't come with the hood or case of front leather cap so that wasn't such a good buy. The hood probably costs $500 alone.

That's a bargain, hood or not, if you are enterprising you can easily get one, plus no case, not important, just put the whole Canon Lens collection in one case made by your self.

They sell new for $8500.00 each at the moment.

Cheers Leon

These were the much older (8 years) non IS version (supposedly better optically than the IS) with a fair bit of wear. You woulnd't buy locally anyway. Just get one from the US with international warranty. Far cheaper.
