N1499 California Nebula

Looked at this from my driveway yesterday at 4am with a 10" Dob, 26mm Plossl and a UHC filter. Started from mag4 xi Per and moved down 30' to NGC 1499. The very faint nebula contrasts with the dark sky south and north of it. The east and west ends were vague so the shape was not well seen. The brightest parts were above mag6.4 HIP18769 and east of mag7 HIP18518. N1499 transits at about 3:30am. The nebulae is 130' by 35' so I had to move my scope to see it all. It is about 12.5 degrees below M45. The image below is from Desktop Universe, south is up.
