I'm am confused about the up coming Lunar eclipse, ABC news & channel 7 say it's tonight Good Friday but my Ice in Space Calendar say it's Saturday night April 4th at 11.00 pm AEST. So who's right?
I have Saturday start 10.56 start & will be a short one with totality at 11.03pm, It will be over before 12.30am.
I don't know why the media has it wrong. I have a mates 11 year old coming over to see it & he freaked out due to the reports on the TV being 24 hours early. I heard it too! ABC & Channel 7 both did the same thing.
Hi Doug
Sat 4th April
EST Time not taking in daylight savings
partial eclipse begins 8:15pm
total eclipse begins 9:54 pm
mid-eclipse 10:00 pm
total eclipse ends 10:06
partial eclipse ends 11:45
I talk to the Media a bit and I sure did not tell them Friday
You can bet that they went off a USA site and then told everyone it was Friday ! I made that mistake in my first year of doing astronomy events, but that was quite a few lunar Eclipses ago
