Moon South Pole 12 Oct 2013

Hi there!

Here is a shot of the Moon's south pole imaged on 12 October.

To my eyes, it looks like the resolution in your image is down to features in the 2km range. My guide lists Curtius at 95km and Simpelius at 70km. Another superb shot.

Thank you guys!

I used the ZWO 120MM. The DMK doesn't get used much these days.

The AVI captured in SharpCap, stacked in Avistack 2, the stacked imaged was deconvoluted and sharpened in AstraImage. Levels were ajusted in GIMP.

I see Damian Peach had been using the ASI 220MM for pictures of the Moon in 2013 - see his website - very tempted to take the plunge and see what it's like for myself at a very decent price.

Thanks Eric. That's right Damien Peach seems to be using the ASI120MM . A great endorsment for the camera, I guess.
