New 1600x1200 cameras from Astronom Cameraas

They've just released a new line of astronomy cameras.

http://www.astronomycameras.com/blog...s-1600-x-1200/

1600x1200 resolution, 15fps. Mono or Colour, USB or GigE.

So it's the same frame rate as the DMK31 series, with more resolution.

Would be great for lunar and solar photography. I wonder how the PC/laptop will respond to getting frames that size at 15fps.

Would love to test them out.

Hi Mike

Looks interesting - thanks. Any news on prices in Oz from local retailers?

Cheers

Dennis

PS my DMK31AF04.AS FireWire records at 30fps.

Ah you're right, it's the DMK41 that records at 15fps.

It will be interesting to see how AVIStack handles these larger frames/AVI’s, although the prospect of not having to knit together a lot of 800x600 or 1024x768 frames to make a mosaic is very, very appealing!

Off you go Mike – you be the guinea pig and let us know the results!

Cheers
