Rosette Nebula

Only got about 6 hours on this one between all the fires and rain but I think it still came out okay.

Any tips or criticisms are more than welcome, thanks!

Detail is pretty good. Colour is strange. Did you use any colour calibration?

Excellent detail Pali. As others have indicated, maybe look at the colour balance. Nice field of view for this object and star shapes are great as well.

Thanks all. Not sure if true colour was possible with this one as it is an Ha/OIII image with a synthetic green. It is a little different from the reddish rosette I'm used to. I'd love to hear colour palette suggestions for these kinds of images though! Cheers

Aha! I thought it was an lrgb shot. That throws a whole new light on things.
What software are you using to process the image?

Hey Geoff, thats my bad I should've mentioned it! Im using Pixinsight. More specifically, once I get the stacked RGB image I seperate it into three R/G/B images and eventually recombine them with Pixelmath. With how the filter works, the B or G channel is usually the exact same as the other but one's a little weaker.

Pixelmath formulas:

R: R

G: (0.6*R)+(0.4*G)

B: (0.7*G)+(0.3*B)

I vary the values of the G and B channels to taste and also depending on which one is the stronger channel.
