Happy Solstice

Looking for something to be cheery about with all this gloomy weather around at the moment.

Happy Solstice Everyone

Happy solstice right back at you Michael!

I guess that calls for a glass of wine to celebrate. I don't need much convincing so am off to refresh my wine glass.
Cheers.

So we have 'turned the corner' and are heading back to summer? Great. Looking out the window, the day is glorious with a beautiful blue sky but the wind has a real bite. The liitle rhyme my father used to recite comes back to me. "As the days lengthen so the cold strengthen."

Actually, the solstice day is the beginning of winter and I'm not looking forward to summer. Too cloudy, too rainy, too hot, too cyclone prone. Total astronomical washout for 7-8 months of the year.

We usually have a solstice bbq for a bit of a laugh.

We gave it a miss this time around with a temp of 1.0ºc and a wind chill of -2.5ºc in 20kph winds.

Cheers,
We've got summer with 25°C and clear skies (moonlight unfortunately).
Happy solstice!

And today will be 8 seconds longer than it was on the 21st.

You can really notice it, can't you.

Was it the night or day that was longer? I am trying to work out whether I am more or less tired.

I'm pretty sure it's the day Trevor, so you'll be more tired.
