Starlight express filter wheel problem

Hi everyone.

I have a SX 7 position filter wheel that doesn't seem to be functioning properly when I attach it it a pc with usb3. It keeps appearing and disappearing in my device list. The pc is an Intel NUC with i3 cpu and 4 usb3 ports.
I know the filter wheel works because when I attach it to an older unit with with usb2.0 it works well. I have tried runnin got through a powered usb 2.0 hub but I still get the same result.

Both pc's are identical in software as I cloned the hard drive of the older pc to the NUC i3. Both are running windows 10 OS. Every other hardware is working as expected except for the filter wheel.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Can anyone help?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Please keep me posted on progress. My 7pos did something similar. Failed to initialise one day. Thought it was stuffed. Only solution... Win10 reinstall fixed mine. Thought it may have been Win10 driver/updates related... hard to say.
