The Sisters at ISO 6400.
Hi,
Another image at ISO 6400 and I'm chuffed how its come up.
This is by far the bets M45 I've done to date.
8" F/4 astrograph HEQ pro 5 mount. Orion mini guider.
Unmodded canon 1100D, baader type III coma corrector.
15 x 2 minute and 31 x 1 minute subs ISO 6400. Stacked in DSS, processed in PS Cs2.
Image cropped.
Cheers,
Justin.

nice work Justin you managed a fair bit of dust there!
its a bit low for me when its visible from my imaging spot.
seems like you're going to keep on using iso 6400 for the time being?
cheers

Thanks Russell!
I'm enjoying using 6400. you can get in 2 minutes what it takes 10 in ISO 800.
Solves all sorts of problems with tracking issues on long exposures and the extra subs means noise is reduced when stacking.

Never gets very high from this latitude so I'm happy with how much faint stuff there is.

Came out well Justin. I nearly targeted this last week, but got distracted by comets, as usual.

Certainly been a good year for comets, some of the best conjunctions I've seen.
Cheers,
Justin.

really impressive! Yet another win for the SLR or mirrorless (
) crowd
PLEASE post to a decent image hoster though! I'd like to see it without the fly-wire in front of it..

Nice image Justine. I have never had a lot of success with this but you have brought it out very nicely.

Marc said he had problems imaging it too. Is it something to do with light pollution?
Cheers,
Justin.

Not for me, initially it was poor processing skills. My issue now is handling blooming with my current setup. It's not made for clusters with bright stars, which is fine.

Nice
You really captured the sisters well. Love the nebulosity. I haven't been able to get it right yet. My stars are all blown out when I do get the gas. Haven't learned to layer things yet. Is that how you did this one?
