I built a Saturn V rocket from 1969 Lego pieces

Can be assembled all in one afternoon but I took my time over a couple of weeks so I can enjoy the process. Stands over 1 metre tall.

As a space kid and teenager during the Apollo era , My kids and grandkids gave me one for Father’s Day last year
Took me a couple of weeks to build it
Don’t know where to put it now,it’s so bloody big
Maybe on a book shelf

Nice! Yep, these things are great, but where do you put them?
I just built the Lego Super Star Destroyer from Star Wars (my son-in-law lent it to me) and it's a foot longer and wider!!

Next is the Millenium Falcon, which is also BIG!.

Can you install some Estes rocket motors and launch it? Then it'd be cool and functional

Are the white pieces that make up the majority of the exterior different shades of white? Mine are all over the place. Some white, some slightly off white, some almost have a yellow tinge. Not a big deal but certainly noticeable. Probably one of the best value Lego sets available. And certainly one of the coolest that's for sure.

Hmm good for you I suppose I posted on another forum about this and there were others who had discrepancy in the white colour of the exterior panels as well. Ah well.

Paid $135 for mine at Myer when they had a sale. It regularly gets discounted at Target, Myer, etc.

In keeping with the period, note the tape measure is in inches and feet.

Love these especially when they're accompanied with a tower or an illuminated blast off base. Congrats!

You know it only just occurred to me how significant the piece count is for this Lego set. 1969 pieces. Clever.

I saw a Saturn V model in Parkes at the Dish made from scratch with plastic tube etc. I think the LEGO model is more my level . Fantastic.

Although a Saturn V letterbox sounds cool.

The instruction book is great but i did manage to stuff up the orientation of some panels once or twice and had to back up a little , call it a launch pad failure maybe .
