Canon EF 70-300mm L IS USM Lens Info

Has anyone owned or use this lens? If so I would like to know how well it compares to the various 70-200mm Canon L series lenses.

I've owned this lens for about 18 months now. Nice piece of glass, but not as sharp as my 70-200 L. As a travel lens however it's excellent, more compact than the 70-200, with a signficantly longer zoom range.

Thanks for your reply Peter, after some research I would go along with your thoughts. I like the idea of an all rounder i.e. compactness, good glass and quality construction. Cheers.
