what on earth is this???

I stacked 19 odd 3 minute subs with darks in Deep sky stacker and I get this funny looking blue thing on my Eta Carina photo....don't know the cause. I just stacked it three times to see if something went wrong in the process and get the same result each time.....

Did you happen to have a light shining in the back of your camera viewfinder when you shot darks?

I would try stretching your master dark and see if that pattern shows up in it. If not, try stretching each light frame.

Regards,
Eric

Did you put a cover over the eyepiece? Light can enter from that direction, my K10D came with a cover that is recommended for long exposures.
