Milkyway widefield and startrails

Some holiday snaps and earlier this year over a new moon long weekend

All taken with a Sony A7R and Samyang 35mm lens.

Approx 3hrs for the start trails.

Approx 20 x 1min for both the Milkyway shots using a Star Adventurer to track the background

I'll do an intentional star trail one day before I die
I love the second one!

Thanks David and Colin,

These wide fields are a great way to fill in time while the main scope is ticking away.

Just have find some interesting foregrounds to include with the milkyway

Cheers Geoff

Cool Shots Geoff, and I like the composition.
Do you notice any "star eater" issues with exposures going over 30 sec on your sony?

Cheers

Very striking images. Top notch stuff Geoff!
Can't decide which I like more.

I think Linville for sentimental reasons - you start to relax once you get that far out, and know what comes next

Did you photoshop the stacked stars on the foreground somehow?
