Post White dwarf X9 is closest star found orbiting a black hole. Velocity: 12 million km/h

In an article today in the Sydney Morning Herald, Marcus Strom
reports on evidence of a star orbiting a black hole at just 2.5
times the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

The black hole and star are in the globular cluster 47 Tucanae.

That's 1 per cent the speed of light.

Absolutely astounding!

I guess that star never asks the question "are we there yet?" (ignoring the actuality of relativity and space/time for a second)

And ignoring the actuality of traveling in a circle!

Simply amazing that they are able to gain/interpret that type of data. From the earth to the moon in less than 2 min. Wow!
