Hi Greg,
what a bummer -
all that over a lousy driver.
That's almost heart breaking.

I remember when I first got my QHY9M camera.
I initially couldn't get it to work along with the filter wheel and mount drive via the Lodestar guide camera.
I had loaded the many files of software in the wrong order -
the correct order was not clear to me.
I ended up having to uninstall everything -
reboot and start again to re-install following a particular order.
It then all worked very well.
However - that was about 5 hours later.
I also to this day cannot swap USB ports for the 2 USB cables on the laptop -
each one of 2 USB cables only works in one USB port.
The cables are labeled for each port.

Also hidden in the QHY9M notes was that actual pictures you wanted must be downloaded
with slow download not fast download.
I went for ages not knowing that until some dark frames showed that slow download
had only one quarter of the noise as fast download.

You need a lot of patience and to be forgiving of yourself
to be able to do this hobby.
I say to myself that I can get better pictures than multi million dollar telescopes
of the 1970s that used film so it's not going to be easy.

cheers
Allan

. I'm happy your up and going, but sad for all the hassle this has been. There have been several threads here with this driver issue. I'm on the 1.0.0.3 version which is solid. 1.0.0.5 is DOA.

I didn't have any success with that one, 1.0.0.3, before I sent the camera over to the UK.
I went back even further and now it all works.
The driver I am using is not on the QSI site.

Happy you are back in business Greg.
Don't mean to hijack your thread, but on the subject of drivers, I have a fully serviceable Acuter digital imager that won't work with later versions of windows, and apparently there are no newer drivers for it; do I just have to throw it in the garbage bin?

Hi Julie

I was disturbed to see this on the Parcelforce tracking site:

Your parcel is being held in our delivery depot awaiting payment of customs charges. The addressee is being sent a letter outlining the chargers and how to pay.

Why are there charges for an item sent for repair and are they really going to post me a letter?

I must admit I feel let down by Atik during this whole saga. There must be some sort of relationship between Atik and customs as you are selling goods overseas.

Does this happen to every item that is returned from overseas for repair or service?

Sorry, I know this is not your fault personally. However, I would be reluctant to purchase an Atik product in the future. Not because of the quality of the product but what happens if it needs to be serviced etc?

The people in senior management of Atik need to be aware of what has happened to me. It must be happening to others as well.

I am keeping my fellow contributors on ICE IN SPACE, a web site here in Australia, informed of my ordeal.

Once again, I know this is not your fault, but this is an issue for your company.

Regards

Greg

This surely is an issue for a company with an export business.
