My Final Eagle

As promised, here is my finished Eagle for the season. Those who have followed will know this started as a guide test to see if could guide my reduced C9.25 SCT with my current guide setup. I then added a few more hours to get to 5.5 total. Friday night saw me almost double that to a final image bang on 10hrs. I’d have to say I’m pretty happy with the result. My only issue being the gradients that come from compressing it enough to post. Time to get an Astrobin account I think. The full sized version is quite beautiful I think.

200x180sec at ISO400 and some at 800
C9.25 SCT w/ 0.63 reducer
HEQ5 pro guided w/ Nexguide SAG
Canon 350d astromodified w/ STC Duo filter
Bortle 8 skies

Thanks for looking

A great result Ryan. You have inspired me to have a crack at imaging with my old C8.

Well captured Ryan, the stars only appear to have a very slight elongation which with a guide scope (not an OAG) is pretty darn good! You should be very happy with that
I may have to attempt a RGB of M16 as I’ve only ever shot it in narrowband. What are the Star colours like in your raw data? Curious as to the different star colours in the region

Wow.... thank you all for such positive feed back. And thank you to all that have commented on my work to date. Whether it be critiquing what I’ve produced that has driven me do things better or sharing your amazing sucesses that has given me benchmarks to try and achieve. I really appreciate this community and the people in it. Now time to take what I’ve learned so far and aim higher

Colin - Thank you also. The star colour in the raw files are not much better than in the final image. The STC Duo is a dual narrowband filter which, as with other narrow bands, really strips the colour of most of the stars. Sampling the individual stars in Photoshop does show small colour variance such as 245,245,247 for the RGB respectively for a blue star so I could attempt to process them seperatly. That’s probably part of the next level I need to take my imaging to.

Thank you all again for your comments
